Access arrangements (AA) are the reasonable adjustments made to the way in which examinations are taken in order to take account of an individual pupil’s special educational needs and/or disabilities. The phrase ‘reasonable adjustments’ comes from the Equality Act 2010. The role of the HLTA/AAA is to allow all students the equal opportunity in which to demonstrate their skills, knowledge and understanding for examinations and assessments in line with awarding bodies and JCQ guidance.
We are looking to appoint an exceptional candidate to join us as a HLTA who would also be willing to train as an Access Arrangements Assessor. The role is to allow all students the equal opportunity to demonstrate their skills, knowledge and understanding for examinations and assessments in line with awarding bodies and JCQ guidance.
Once the successful candidate receives qualification as an Access Arrangements Assessor the salary for this role would be positioned at Scale 6 SCP point ranges 24-29.
This post is term time only consisting of 32.5 hours per week (08:30 – 15:30) Monday-Friday. The working day is 0830-1530 daily. Part time candidates will be considered, but flexibility to be able to work full days, when required is needed.
The role will be split across two sites: Beechwood School and Herschel Grammar School; both founding partners of The Schelwood Trust.
If you are passionate about providing young people with a safe, supportive environment in which to ensure their success, are willing to go that extra mile to support them and be flexible in your working arrangements then we want to hear from you.
