Teaching and Learning Assistant

Up to 32.5 hours (5 days per week) | Term time including

We are looking for an efficient and enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills able to work collaboratively with teaching staff and assist in the whole planning cycle and preparation of resources whilst supporting young people in class

We will consider candidates who wish to move into this type of role, those that are developing their practice and those more experienced HLTA colleagues. 

We aim to appoint individuals who:

  • are efficient and enthusiastic with high levels of communication and organisational skills;
  • have good practical skills and an attention to detail;
  • are approachable, caring but firm;
  • are able to work with teachers and students in a calm way;
  • high standard of literacy and numeracy;
  • have good ICT skills;
  • are energetic, creative and hands on in all they do;
  • can work collaboratively in a team;
  • can recognise the success in students, others and themselves;
  • are extremely flexible and can cope with change;
  • have an openness to training and personal development.

Experience of working with young people with visual impairment and a knowledge of Braille would be advantageous.
